Player Information
- Players age 7-9 as of August 31 (predominantly 2nd graders)
- Parents select their teams based on coach familiarity, child’s friends, etc. (NESLL will assign players to teams if they have no particular preference)
Season Timeline & Schedule
- Practices start mid to end of March
- Games begin in April and end in early June
- 3 games per week - 2 weeknight and 1 on Saturday
- Games begin at 5-6 pm on weeknights and 9:30 am and later on Saturdays
Game Format & Equipment
- Dual Pitching Format:
- Each game begins with 3 innings of coach-pitch, allowing players to build confidence in hitting
- Followed by 3 innings of kid-pitch, where players take turns pitching to their teammates or until time runs out, providing valuable experience in both hitting and pitching.
- Games are scored and keeps track of outs, and teams are limited to 5 runs per inning to maintain competitive balance
- This season culminates in Playoffs, all teams make playoffs
The A division serves as a crucial stepping stone between coach-pitch and more competitive levels, equipping players with the skills and confidence they need while ensuring they enjoy their time on the field.
